Maintenance
Between seasons a silo has to be cleaned out completely. Residue left on the walls, in the cones and in the aeration channels leads to infestation and passes odour on to the next crop.
We clean the bin over its full height — walls, rings, cone or flat floor, discharge gates, aeration channels and gratings — and carry on with the elevators, chain conveyors and screws, where old material most often collects.
Working inside a bin means a confined space, dust and work at height. We go in with written procedures, suitable protective equipment and supervision from outside.
Cleaning also brings hidden problems to light: corroded sheeting, loosened joints, blocked aeration, faulty sensors. We report what we found, so you can repair before the season rather than during it.
